Houses close to markets, shops and schools always attract a lot of interest in the real estate market. Houses with the added option for commercial usage are particularly valuable, and can sometimes command up to twice the price of ordinary houses.
This week, Metro’s top pick is a newly built house that also provides occupants enough space to open a shop on the lower floors.
This is newly-built three-and-a-half storey house located on Tabin Shwe Htee Road in North Dagon, and the entire ground floor is structured as a shop front.
The upper two floors contain two living rooms and five bedrooms. Each floor also features spacious balconies, giving families plenty of room to enjoy a leisurely chit-chat or a barbeque during the Yangon evenings.
All-glass façade and windows surround the bedrooms, making them airy and light.
The house also includes a parking space at the front of the building fit for three cars, meaning that accommodating visitors won’t be an issue.
Tabin Shwe Htee Road is near to the market and a school, and the house is located just a short distance away from Pinlon Road – which the major road in the township.
As North Dagon is a new township it features many new houses, and fewer high-rise buildings – meaning that the area is relatively spacious and uncluttered, with room for future development.
North Dagon is accessible via public transport, including buses and trains. The nearby railway cuts through the township, servicing Dagon University from the Yangon Railway Station. The university also makes the place especially vibrant
during the semester.
Given the demand for student housing there are a number of dormitories in North Dagon, as well as restaurants that are frequented by undergraduates and staff from the university.
Aside from the university North Dagon contains a total of 24 primary schools, one middle school and two high schools. It neighbors East Dagon Myothit township to the east and north, and South Okkalapa township in the
west. South Dagon Myothit borders North Dagon to the south.
If you search North Dagon on Google Maps you’ll notice many coffee shops and restaurants. 24-hour Capital Hyper Markets and a City Mart also provide residents with plenty of shopping convenience.
There is a night market near the Taw Win Housing Complex, which is a major attraction of North Dagon township in the evenings.
Although it is a newly created township, it is quite prosperous. Given the low density housing there’s much less traffic congestion than downtown suburbs, saving residents time when shopping and traveling.
North Dagon township is located near the international airport and highway bus terminals, both of which are just half-an-hour away by car. As there are also YBS lines that run directly to Aung Mingalar Highway Terminal, travelers can save both time and money.
